A chimney is only as effective as the pressure differential it creates. During heavy frying or spice-tempering (tadka), oil particles become microscopic and airborne. If the chimney is installed too high (over 30 inches), these particles escape into the kitchen before the suction zone can capture them.

Removing a chimney involves safe decommissioning of the power lines and sealing the external duct hole. A neglected duct hole can create backdrafts, bringing external heat and pests into your home.
